Good morning, Giants fans, and, no, you’re not dreaming!   The G-Men actually won a season-opener!   The Giants are 1 and 0!   They’re over .500!   Big Blue is back, baby!   We’re winning the Super Bowl!

Hey, it’s your Sports pal Davey Mac here and I’ve gotta tell you…I’ve been a New York Football Giants fan for my entire life and this is the most hopeful that I’ve been about the future of the franchise in ten years.

A decade ago, we had coach Tom Coughlin and QB Eli Manning leading the way.   Yesterday, it was all about new head coach Brian Daboll and running back Saquon Barkley willing the Giants to victory.

Both men were absolutely huge in the Giants’ dramatic, come-from-behind, surprising win over the Tennessee Titans.   The Titans have won the AFC South the past two seasons and many football pundits have predicted them to take a third, straight, division title.

And yet, with the game in their building, the Titans could not put the Giants away.   Instead, Barkley’s brilliant performance and Daboll’s gutsy decision-making resulted in the best Giants’ victory in years.

It’s been a disaster with the G-Men lately.   Ben McAdoo, Pat Shurmur, and Joe Judge all turned out to be coaching disasters.   Daboll, it seems, has the potential to be a coach of substance and quality.

Meanwhile, Saquon looked like one of the best backs in the NFL yesterday.   Barkley was explosive, powerful, fast, and tough.   Barring any serious injury this year…Barkley may have a HUGE season.

Look, I’m trying not to get too excited…but cut me a break…it’s been years of futility at this point!   Let’s go Giants!   It’s time to seize your future!   And that’s my two cents!
