Kelsey Grammer Will Be A Guest Bartender In Seaside Heights

Kelsey Grammer will be heading to Seaside Heights as a guest bartender at the Ocean View Bar & Restaurant.

Kelsey has been to the Jersey Shore and other parts of the Garden State many times.  Kelsey was partly raised in Woodbridge, New Jersey by his mother and his maternal grandparents. His family then moved to Pompano Beach, Florida when Kelsey was twelve years old after his grandfather died.

This Golden Globe & Emmy Award winner has been traveling all over New Jersey in the last few years promoting his Faith American Brewing Company which is on tap at many establishments here in New Jersey.

We’ve run into him many times over the last couple of years and he couldn’t have been more gracious. He was even nice enough to take a photo with Gotts and other members of the radio station.

Where do I go for the best chili dogs in New Jersey? That is the question people are asking today. Today, July 25,2025 is National Chili Dog Day.

Chili dogs in New Jersey are abundant, but which places stand above the rest?

 North Jersey is loaded with hot dog joints, hot dog carts, and hot dog stands and most of them offer chili dogs.

But don’t you dare discount South Jersey my friends, they have places that make delicious chili dogs.

Hot Dog expert ,John Fox is an ambassador to the National Hot Dog and Sausage Council and Co-founder of Hot Dog Nation. In one of my previous articles on hot dogs John said,” I’ve been to close to 200 Hot Dog establishments. South Jersey for the most part is a hot dog wasteland. However, arguably the best hot dog in the state is served at Maui’s in Wildwood. Their brand is Hofmann’s German hot dog, a pork, beef, and veal blend and the best hot dog in my opinion.

Sorry John, I don’t believe South Jersey is quite the wasteland you claim it is. It may not be as prominent as North Jersey, but according to many other hot dog enthusiasts it’s got quite a few good places to grab a good hot dog.

Who Sells One Of My Favorite chili Dogs In New Jersey?

I used to hit up a hot dog wagon in Tuckerton that has one of the best Sabrett chili dogs around. They’re called The Country Dog. Located at 312 E Main St, Tuckerton, NJ 08087. I haven’t been down that way in several months and I’m relieved to know that Alberta and the staff are still serving those tasty chili dogs. I’m hitting the Tuckerton area next weekend, so I’ll stop by for a couple of chili dogs on my way to my destination.

I hit up a few prominent hot dog social media sites and review sites in search of New Jersey’s favorite chili dogs not only to celebrate National Chili Dog Day, but because I absolutely adore chili dogs of any kind. Spicy chili is probably my favorite. I also like chili dogs topped with raw onion. Throw a little cheese into the mix and my day gets a little bit better

I love being able to go to the hot dog lovers for their opinions on where to get hot dogs of any kind.

  • Dogs on First - A Hot Dog Cart At The North End Of First Ave In The Atlantic Highlands Marina

    I came across a few folks including Dave P from the Hot Dog Nation Page who love this little hot dog wagon. Dave posted: Sabrett dogs & Schmidt Potato Rolls. Open Tues – Sunday 10-5 May- November. Dave of course had a few dogs including one with chili pictured below.

  • Boulevard Dogs-N-More - 206 Boulevard, Hasbrouck Heights, NJ 07604

    So much love was shown for chili dogs created at Angelo Boulevard’s place.  Dr. Rich Thunder proclaimed, “The absolute best chili dog I’ve ever had is at Angelo Boulevard. Blvd Dogs and more. Don’t believe me; go try it for yourself.  

     

     

     

  • Dicky's Dogs - 332 Atlantic City Blvd, Toms River, NJ 08757

    In my neck of the woods we’ve got Dicky’s Dogs, situated near a weed and edibles dispensary. I’ll bet a chili dog or 10 would taste good after sampling the weed next door.

    In all seriousness, several local folks in Ocean Count call Dicky’s their favorite place for a chili dog. Anthony calls it the best chili dog in Ocean County.

     

  • Famous 8 Roadside Eatery - 165 US-202, Ringoes, NJ 08551

    Some reviewers called it the best chili cheese dog they ever had. They’re called Famous 8 for their 8 inch dogs and buns. The chili has a bit of a kick. Excellent service with affordable prices.

    One reviewer wrote: This place is like a hidden gem. The Hotdog was delicious and it’s air fried with Wayne’s chili sauce, amazing!!


    Air fried hot dogs are a lot healthier than deep fried rippers. Another reviewer wrote: “Chili is off the hook”. Plus Wayne, the owner is a great guy. Grab a chili dog from this joint and get to know Wayne.

    Jack loves the chili dogs with the works. This hole in the wall joint with prompt service and dynamite chili dogs should not be overlooked.

  • The Hot Dog Shack - 120 Creek Rd, Mt Laurel Township, NJ 08054

    According to several hot dog lovers, the Chili Cheese Dog is the way to go. Open Tues-Sun 11-4, this little shack in Rancocas Woods is a stop you should make while on a drive with the family. You can do a little shopping at one of the charming shops and then grab lunch with the kids.

    Many people mentioned the “DOUBLE D”  a hot dog topped with hot chili, cheese, raw onions. You can choose a dirty water or deep fried Sabrett hot dog with spicy or mild chili. They have a nice specialty dog menu with a lot of great choices to top your dog.

Located in the industrial part of Linden, this is the most tastiest, meatiest “uniquely” flavored hot dog chili you will ever taste! His recipe is over 35 years old. Hot dogs are Sabrett and deep-fried crisp.

    Another place that gets rave reviews for their chili dogs. Dave makes his own chili and you can get a variety of chili dogs. A chili dog with cheese, one with the homemade slaw, the Coney Island, or Dave;s special topped with chili, raw onions, and shredded cheese.

  • The Country Dog - 312 E Main St, Tuckerton, NJ 08087

    I’m not the only fan of this hot dog wagon. There are many others including Dave, who wrote: “I would say this is the Best Dog Gone Food Wagon this side of the Mississippi! Great service, super friendly. She has had to move a few times but the customers keep following her because the food and service is that great!
