New Jersey Ranked Among The Smartest In Country

Atlantic County is buying new voting machines. County commissioners passed an ordinance to bond almost 3 and half million dollars to purchase roughly 326 new voting machines. They say the current machines are over 20 years old. New machines will be able to provide a paper trail audit. They’ll be purchased from Election Systems and Services of Omaha, Nebraska, according to The Press of Atlantic City.
COVID is spiking. State health officials report more than 19-hundred-60 confirmed cases and 23 deaths due to COVID-19 as positive tests continue to increase. New Jersey’s seven-day average for confirmed positive tests is up by 11 percent over the last week and up 37 percent from a month ago.
The winter storm that has dumped snow across the western and southern U.S. is forecast to reach our tomorrow, with up to three inches of snow and rain forecast for some areas. Forecasters say the storm is expected to bring mostly rain to Monmouth and Ocean counties, while up to two inches of snow is expected in the northwestern part of New Jersey.
From Bloomfield. Thieves stole catalytic converters off school buses. Bloomfield cops are investigating the thefts over the weekend of December 3rd. Catalytic converters have been the target of thieves nationwide in recent years because they contain precious metals that can bring hundreds of dollars on the secondary market.
Despite such idiocy: A new survey ranks the Jersey among the smartest states in the country. The study comes from a gambling website called PennStakes. It looked at factors such as IQ scores, ACT scores and the percentage of the population with bachelor’s and advanced degrees, according to the Census Bureau. New Jersey ranks seventh nationwide. Massachusetts is ranked first.
