Ewan McGregor To Reprise Role Of Obi-Wan Kenobi
At today’s Disney D23 event today, there were a number of big announcements made about the Star Wars universe, but none bigger than the news that Ewan McGregor will be returning to the role of Obi-Wan Kenobi for a TV series set to air on Disney’s Disney+ streaming network.
The official Star Wars website claims that the series is “one that many fans have been asking to see since the closing scenes of 2005’s Revenge of the Sith.” The website says that the new series takes place eight years after the events of Revenge of the Sith, “where we last saw Obi-Wan delivering the infant Luke Skywalker to his Tatooine homestead.”
There are no other details, no title, and no premiere date, for the series as of press time.
