Good morning, Sports fans!   It’s Davey Mac here back with another Sports Report for ya!  We’ve got the baseball, basketball, hockey, and football scores and news!  But first…

…Did you see that Burt Young has passed away at the age if 83.  While Burt was in a bunch of great movies and TV shows…it is his portrayal of Paulie in the Rocky movies that made him a recognizable face across the globe.

In honor of Burt and Rocky…we’re doing a list…Top 5 Sports Movies Of All Time!  And it starts right now!

 

5.) The Natural

One of Robert Redford’s best performances as an actor…the tale of Roy Hobbs getting back into baseball at age 40 is epic and awesome.

 

4.) Rudy

RUDY!  RUDY!  RUDY!  There are many good football movies…but this inspiring story is the best for that sport.

 

3.) Field Of Dreams

Kevin Costner and ghosts and baseball and a good soundtrack…Field Of Dreams is pure magic.

 

2.) Raging Bull

One of Martin Scorcese’s best films…this depiction of Jake LaMotta is as good as it gets.

 

 

1.) Hoosiers 

Gene Hackman and basketball and a killer score.  Hoosiers in number one on our list.

 

 

 

 

  • Astros Beat Texas In Game 3 Of ALCS

    Let’s start with baseball…where the Houston Astros beat the Texas Rangers in Game 3 of the American League Championship Series…8 to 5.  Jose Altuve homered for Houston in the win.  Texas still has a two games to one advantage in the series.

  • Phillies Play D-Backs Tonight For Game 3 Of NLCS

    Now today at 5 PM (EST)…the Phillies take on the Arizona Diamondbacks for Game 3 of the National League Championship Series.  The Phillies have a two games to none lead in the series.

    Hockey.  The Rangers face the Predators tonight in Madison Square Garden.  The pucks drops at 7 PM (EST).

    Basketball.  The Knicks got crushed by the Wizards in NBA preseason hoops…131 to 106.  Washington’s Jordan Poole had 41 points.

  • Nets Defeat Miami

    The Nets beat the Heat…107 to 104.  Brooklyn’s Day’ron Sharp had 19 points and 11 rebounds in the win.

  • Vegas Beats New York In WNBA Finals

    Congrats to the Las Vegas Aces…they won the WNBA Finals last night by beating the New York Liberty…three games to one.

  • Jets Trade Receiver

    Football.  According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Jets are trading wide receiver Mecole Hardman to the Kansas City Chiefs for a late-round draft pick swap.
