Good morning, Sports fans! Davey Mac here with another action-packed Sports Report for ya! Devils re-sign a player! Mets have a collapse! Football and basketball and more! But first!
Did you see the Mets’ epic loss yesterday? Yikes. It was a disastrous eighth inning that did the team in…and seems to have set off Mets fans. After the game, tons of Mets supporters took to Twitter to demand that Buck Showalter, the team’s manager, should be fired.

So, yesterday Buck said Ottavino was not available but Ottavino himself said he was available?
Yup, Buck gotta go.
Who do you replace him with?
Guess what? For the rest of this season, who cares who replaces Buck.
Even by Mets standards, it was a crushing loss. With Gary Cohen calling it "horrific" and pressure building on Buck Showalter.https://t.co/leIP4Jjox0

While I understand being frustrated with a team that is very much under-performing at the moment…didn’t Buck just make the playoffs with the Mets last year? And you want him terminated in year two as the team’s skipper? Wow!
I mean…maybe Mets General Manager Billy Eppler should take some heat here. Eppler is the one who has constructed this team. And if they aren’t measuring up to high standards…surely Eppler has to accept some responsibility.
In any event, it should be interesting to see what happens to Buck. Currently, the Mets (with the highest payroll in all of Major League Baseball) are 35 and 42 and are in fourth place in the N.L. East. We’ll see what happens!
