Good morning, Sports fans!   Davey Mac here with a Tuesday Sports Report for ya!   A little baseball and basketball talk…but first!   Breaking news out of the NFL!

The New York Giants and superstar running back Saquon Barkley did NOT come to an agreement on the franchise tag yesterday and now, as a result, the Giants have to sit back and hope Barkley signs the franchise tag at some point and plays this season.

Second year General Manager Joe Schoen better know what he’s doing.   The Giants were noticeably weak without Saquon in the lineup last year.   But with #26 carrying the ball…the Giants were a playoff team.

Quarterback Daniel Jones improved a lot last year…and had his best NFL season of his career.   But it goes without saying that Jones was significantly better on the field when he had Saquon backing him up.

And head coach Brian Daboll knows how electric Saquon is.   Daboll utilized Saquon more as a dynamic duel threat…able to run and catch out of the backfield and make huge plays happen either by running or receiving the ball.

Hopefully the Giants and Saquon come to agreement before this gets into too much of an ugly, holdout situation.   Giants fans are certainly wishing for that!   I’m Davey Mac…that’s my two cents!

  • Yanks Lose To Angels In Extras

The Yankees lost in extra innings for the second day in a row as the Yanks fell to the Angels in ten innings…4 to 3.   Another good performance wasted from a Yankee starter as Luis Severino threw six innings…giving up just one run.   But the bullpen once again struggled and could not hold the lead.   Shohei Ohtani hit his 35th home run of the year for the Angles…as the Yankees drop to 50 and 45…and the Yanks are now by themselves in LAST PLACE in the A.L. East (because the Red Sox won last night).

  • Yanks' Donaldson Could Be Done For The Year

Back to the Yankees for a second…as the team announced that third baseman Josh Donaldson could be done for the rest of the season after receiving a high-grade strain to his right calf.   Another awful signing by Brian Cashman.

  • Embiid Could Leave Philly

Philadelphia 76’ers star center Joel Embiid made headlines recently by saying in an interview that he wants to win a title wherever he can win it.   “I just want to win a championship. Whatever it takes.   I don’t know where that’s gonna be, whether it’s in Philly or anywhere else, I just want to have a chance to accomplish that.”   Uh-oh, Sixers fans!   Sounds like Embiid wants out!
