Good morning, Sports fans! It’s Davey Mac here and we’ve got a nice and juicy Sports Report for ya! But we’re starting it off with breaking news out of the NFL!
Jim Harbaugh is headed back to the NFL. After winning the College Football National Championship as head coach of Michigan…Harbaugh will return to the pros as he becomes the L.A. Chargers new head coach. Harbaugh previously coached the San Francisco 49’ers where he was 44-19-1, won the NFL’s Coach of the Year, and led the Niners to an appearance at the Big Game. Huge deal for the Chargers.

INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA – DECEMBER 04: Head coach Jim Harbaugh of the Michigan Wolverines celebrates with the trophy after the Michigan Wolverines defeated the Iowa Hawkeyes 42-3 to win the Big Ten Championship game at Lucas Oil Stadium on December 04, 2021 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Of course, Jim’s brother is the Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh…who won a ring when his Ravens beat Jim’s 49’ers in the Super Bowl in what was a tremendous game. It still is crazy to me how successful at coaching these two brothers are. They are the only brother coaching combination to win a title in the NFL and Division 1 college football. Jim just won it all with the Wolverines. Meanwhile, Jon has his Ravens in the AFC Championship where they will take on Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs on Sunday. Crazy.

NEW ORLEANS, LA – FEBRUARY 03: Head coach John Harbaugh of the Baltimore Ravens shakes hands with his brother head coach Jim Harbaugh of the San Francisco 49ers after winning Super Bowl XLVII at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome on February 3, 2013 in New Orleans, Louisiana. The Ravens defeated the 49ers 34-31.
All in all…I think this is a great hire for the Chargers. Harbaugh enjoys the West Coast…he not only coached the 49’ers…but he also coached Stanford (with great success) and even played with the Chargers in 1999 and 2000 (when they were still located in San Diego). Smart move by L.A. I’m Davey Mac…now on to the rest of the Scoreboard!
