Good morning, Sports fans! Davey Mac back with a Sports Report on a Wednesday for ya! We’re doing a little baseball hot stove talk, basketball and hockey matchups, and an update in the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl parade shooting. But first…
…New York Yankees megastar and team captain Aaron Judge met with reporters and had some big things to say about the Yanks’ incredibly disappointing season in 2023 where they went a mediocre 82 and 80 and missed the playoffs entirely.

NEW YORK, NEW YORK – APRIL 22: Aaron Judge #99 of the New York Yankees celebrates his solo home run in the fifth inning against the Cleveland Guardians at Yankee Stadium on April 22, 2022 in the Bronx borough of New York City.
Judge asserted to the media that last season was “A wake-up call…and I think just collectively as a group we all kind of looked at each other and said this can’t happen again.” He also said that he and his fellow team-mates were “embarrassed” at the year they had.

NEW YORK, NY – JUNE 3: Aaron Judge #99 of the New York Yankees hits a home run against the Detroit Tigers during the third inning at Yankee Stadium on June 3, 2022 in New York City.
Quite frankly, as a hardcore fan of the Bronx Bombers, I am liking what the Yanks are saying this Spring. We’ve now heard comments from manager Aaron Boone, Yankee ace Gerrit Cole, and captain Aaron Judge…and all are in agreement: 2023 was a disgrace. The team completely underperformed and struggled to score runs…and that is not the Yankee way.

NEW YORK, NEW YORK – SEPTEMBER 20: Aaron Judge #99 of the New York Yankees hits his 60th home run of the season during the 9th inning of the game against the Pittsburgh Pirates at Yankee Stadium on September 20, 2022 in the Bronx borough of New York City.
But I have faith in Judge and the rest of the team. While talk is indeed cheap…at least they’re finally recognizing publicly that last season was terrible…and that they need to win and win BIG this year. I’m exciting…baseball is almost here! I’m Dave Mac…now on to the rest of the Report!
