The Morning Rat Race

Good morning, gang!   It’s Davey Mac here and, boy, do we have an action-packed Sports Report for ya this morning!   Football (pro and college)! Hockey! Basketball! But first!

Oh, my goodness, did you see Sunday Night Football last night? The game was between the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions and had as stupid of a moment as you can possibly imagine.

Considering what we just went through with Buffalo Bills’ defenseman Damar Hamlin (whose life was saved by trainers following a cardiac arrest he suffered on the field)…this really is a low-rent, bone-headed play.

Green Bay rookie linebacker Quay Walker was ejected from the game after he inexplicably pushed a Detroit Lions trainer who had run onto the field after a Lions player had been injured.   It also appeared that the Packers’ Devonte Wyatt intentionally walked into the trainer as well.   Check out the videos below of the incident.

I mean…what are these guys THINKING?!   To do this now?!  After the Damar Hamlin incident where the trainer who administered CPR to him was hailed as a hero?   Ridiculous!

Meanwhile, Hamlin thankfully is making a miraculous recovery.  He was able to Zoom with his team on Friday and the Bills said it was truly inspiring.

I’m not sure what kind of program head coach Matt LeFleur is running in Green Bay…but this was bush league.   I’m Davey Mac…that’s my two cents.

  • Jets fall to Dolphins
  • NFL Playoffs this weekend
  • Nets beat Heat
  • Sixers defeat Detroit
  • Knicks play this evening
  • Flyers defeated by Toronto
  • Georgia Vs. TC Tonight

  • Eagles Take Down Giants

The Giants lost to the Eagles 22 to 16 in the final regular season game of the year.   Of course, the both teams have made the playoffs…but since the Giants were locked in to the number six seed…and couldn’t go up or down…they rested starting quarterback Daniel Jones and running back Saquon Barkley as well as a few others.   The Eagles, on the other and, needed to win to wrap up the number one seed in the NFC…and they did just that.   The Giants end their season at 9-7-1 and will make the playoffs.   The Eagles finish up at 14 and 3 and will be number one in the NFC.

  • Jets Lose To Dolphins

Meanwhile, the Jets lost their season finale to the Dolphins…11 to 6.   The Jets defense was solid once again but just no offense.   The Jets will end their season at 7 and 10.   With the win, the Dolphins now make the playoffs.

New York Jets v Miami Dolphins

  • Giants Play Vikings In Playoffs---Eagles Earn Bye

So…here’s the deal for the NFL postseason this weekend locally…the Giants will play the Vikings on Sunday at 4:25 in Minnesota.   The Vikings are 13 and 4 this year.   The G-Men played them tough earlier in the season…this was the team that had to hit a 61-yard field goal with no time on the clock to win.   So it should be a great game.   Meanwhile, the Eagles have a bye since they grabbed the number one seed.   They’ll have to see how this weekend shakes out before they know who they’ll play.

Indianapolis Colts v New York Giants

  • Nets Beat Heat

The Nets got past the Heat yesterday in a good one…final score…Brooklyn 102…Miami 101.   Kyrie Irving had 29 points and 6 assists in the win.
