(WATCH) Jersey Rock Video of the Week: Rahway “Drowning”
New EP “Sounds Of Spanktown” Coming Octobrer 27!
Rahway just put out a killer new EP! “Sounds Of Spanktown” is an epic collection of high-powered of tracks. The band reunited with Mike Orlando of Adrenaline Mob, recording the new EP at his Sonic Stomp Studio in Staten Island. The 3 lead singles have scored roughly 200,000 combined spotify streams and fan feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.
While the new EP rocks hard, there’s more to the “Sounds Of Spanktown” than what you hear or what you may think be implied by the title. At first glance it sounds like a dirty joke from a group of musicians commonly referred to as the slumlords of NJ, but there’s a lot more to it. Bass player Tim Louie said:
“I know, I know. It sounds dirty, right? We found out through our good friend, Google, that Spanktown was the name of the town of Rahway during the Revolutionary War. In fact, there was a battle there. So, naturally, we wanted to tie that into the name of the new EP.”
With the 250th anniversary of United States coming in just a few short years, it looks like Rahway is ahead of the curve with their history-inspired album title. We’re confident people will still be cranking “Sounds Of Spanktown” in July of 2026!
The new EP was celebrated at a well-attended release show, hosted by Don Jamieson and opened by Kobi Reese, on October 21 at Deboniar Music Hall in Teaneck. Anyone in attendance that night had the opportunity to score the EP in physical format. Everyone else will be able to get it on Friday October 27. “Sounds Of Spanktown” is available now on all streaming platforms. You can purchase it HERE.
The video for Rahway’s latest single “Drowning” is perfect for the week before Halloween. Shot in a real-life haunted house, it’s brimming with spooky vibes! It was filmed, produced & edited by Larry Jones at Arc Angel Entertainment LLC and features a wide array of shots, taking full advantage of everything the mansion had to offer. From belfry’s to bars, and everything in between, it’s clear Rahway did some haunting of their own when they shot “Drowning.” It’s one of the best videos we’ve come across.
Speaking of the video shoot, Tim Loui said:
“We actually shot the video for this at a haunted house in Staten island called Kreishcer Mansion. It was scary… I felt stuff in that place.I heard footsteps in that place. It was pretty scary times! “

7 Tasty Pumpkin Beers Brewed In Monmouth And Ocean Counties
Pumpkin beer. Hey gourdeous! This time of year it is as controversial as Halloween Circus Peanuts. Many people won’t touch it simply out of fear of the unknown. Others seem to find an odd connection between pumpkin beer and pumpkin spice everything that has swept the nation over the past decade. Meanwhile, others, myself included, love a good pumpkin ale now and then during the season of the witch.

Pumpkin Beer Brewing History.
Pumpkin beer really isn’t a new thing. In fact, according to Wikipedia, The brewing of beer with pumpkin in the United States dates back to 1771. However, the first commercially brewed pumpkin ale came from Buffalo Bill’s Brewery in Hayward, California, in the 1980s. Moreover the recipe was based on brewing studies made by none other than our Founding Father himself, George Washington! So saying that you hate pumpkin beer is like saying you hate America! Now aren’t you ashamed!

Style Of Pumpkin Beer A Brewery.
Many styles of pumpkin beer are produced in the USA, including pale ales, wheat beers, porters, and stouts. Obviously, pumpkin styles of beer are most often produced as seasonal offerings in the Fall, from breweries that have pumpkins readily available to be mass purchased, or in some cases grown just for the purpose of heading to the brewery.

How A Brewery Makes Pumpkin Beer.
Pumpkin ale may be produced using pumpkin flesh in combination with malt or other more typical beer grains as a portion of the mash, contributing fermentable sugars. It may also be produced by adding natural or artificial flavoring to a finished beer. Furthermore, pumpkin spice flavor may be added to evoke the flavor of pumpkin pie.
