What’s up with Brent? As it turns out: Plenty!
I mean, it’s not too surprising that Brent is busy. It seems like “busy” could be his middle name!
Scroll down for the video chat that The Morning Rat Race’s Carl Craft did with Brent Smith on WRAT’s Instagram page…
Turns out the Covid-19 crisis caught him and Zach Myers (guitar) by surprise… as they were putting all their creative energies into a new Smith and Myers album. Yes, that’s right… a new duo record from them.
Watch the video to find out about it, including: how many covers it’ll have… and how many new original songs will be on it. (Yes, that’s right fellow Shiners, new stuff on this record!) Plus: Brent drops the dime on the fact that plans are set for the next Shinedown studio album.
But, lets get real. In these times of crisis, Brent knows exactly how to articulate what we, as a people, need to do to survive…. and make no bones about it there is a Threat To Our Survival right now. Part of Brent’s answer is: togetherness, kindness, and looking for the good.
We want you to know that you can step up as a Shinedown fan and help. Early on during this crisis Brent did his research and he was able to work out a special release for the organization that he feels will do exactly what we need to beat this crisis: Help medical professionals who are on the front line of this battle. The organization is: Direct Relief.
So, if you click here: You can buy a very cool Shinedown T-Shirt and get a download of the amazing song we’ve been playing lately, “Atlas Falls”. Watch the video to hear what the song means to him, lyrically and why it connects so well with what we’re dealing with today.
