Good morning, folks! Davey Mac here with another Sports Report for ya! We’ve got news about Bryce Harper! NBA scores! Hockey matchups! And tonight’s NFL game! But first…
…If you missed it…Yankee general manager Brian Cashman finally met with the media following this disastrous season for the Yanks. Well, now we have what Yankee owner Hal Steinbrenner things of this past year in the Bronx. Steinbrenner spoke with reporters recently and called the season “awful.” He also said: “We accomplished nothing. We didn’t win a division, didn’t make it to the playoffs, didn’t win a series in the playoffs, much less a championship. The fans didn’t get anywhere close to what they deserved.”

Steinbrenner also said he consulted with Aaron Judge about Yankee manager Aaron Boone’s future with the team and Judge wants Boone back. The Yankee Captain says he and his teammates believe in Boone…that Boone always has their backs…that they like playing for him…and they believe he is a good manager.

But Judge does not seem happy with Brian Cashman (like the rest of us). Judge met with Cash and Hal earlier in the Autumn to express his displeasure with the Yankees not going after star players. Judge also told Cashman that he needs to put more value on batting average and RBI’s (as opposed to some of the deep analytics that Cashman has been relying on).

Will Hal finally cut bait on Cashman like most Yankee fans want? He has struggled mightily at putting together a top notch roster. If this were George…Cashman would have been gone by October 1st.

Bryce Harper Will Be Phillies Full-Time First Baseman
The Phillies have decided to move on from Rhys Hoskins and go will Bryce Harper as the Phil’ full-time first baseman. Harper made the transition smoothly this year from outfield to first base…so this looks to be a good move.

Knicks Dominate Spurs
Over to basketball…where the Knicks looked great last night as the Knicks dominated the Spurs…126 to 105. Jalen Brunson had 25 points and 6 assists…Julius Randle had 23 points and 16 rebounds…and R.J. Barrett threw in 24 points a well. Meanwhile, the Spurs’ rookie sensation Victor Wembanyama scored 14 points in his Madison Square Garden debut. The Knicks improve to 4 and 4 with the win.

Nets Defeat Clippers
The Nets took down James Harden and the L.A. Clippers…100 to 93. Lonnie Walker IV scored 21 points off the bench for Brooklyn to help propel the Nets to the victory.

Sixers Beat Boston
The 76’ers beat the Celtics in a huge NBA Eastern Conference matchup…106 to 103. The Sixers’ Joel Embiid had 27 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 blocks in the game…as Philly now improves to 6 and 1 for the season!

On to hockey. The Devils, Rangers, and Flyers were all inactive last night. The evening the Rangers face the Wild in Madison Square Garden. The Rangers have gotten off to a hot start…they are 9-2-1 this year. The Devils and Flyers next play on Friday.
