Good morning, Sports fans! Davey Mac here with the final Sports Report of the week before we get to an action-packed weekend! We’ve got football news…baseball, basketball, and hockey scores and matchups…O.J. Simpson dies…and The Masters is here! But first…we start with a headline-grabbing story from the NFL…
…NBC is reporting that legendary NFL quarterback Tom Brady just said in an interview that he would be open to returning to the National Football League under the right circumstances. While he has no interest in returning in a full-time capacity…Brady says if a starting quarterback went down with an injury, he wouldn’t be opposed to filling in. Brady last played with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers where he won a Super Bowl.

TAMPA, FLORIDA – JANUARY 16: Tom Brady #12 of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers throws a pass against the Dallas Cowboys during the second half in the NFC Wild Card playoff game at Raymond James Stadium on January 16, 2023 in Tampa, Florida.
And get this…Brady stated the two teams he’s consider above all others…the Las Vegas Raiders (a team he is currently trying to be an owner of)…and the New England Patriots! That’s right! Brady wants to go back to Boston now that Belichick is gone! WOW!

FOXBORO, MA – JANUARY 16: Tom Brady #12 and head coach Bill Belichick of the New England Patriots shake hands at the start of the AFC Divisional Playoff Game against the Kansas City Chiefs at Gillette Stadium on January 16, 2016 in Foxboro, Massachusetts.
Now, one question I have is: did the Jets actually ever call Tom Brady last season after Aaron Rodgers went down just four plays into Game 1? There were so many people…myself included…who thought the Jets should reach out to Brady since they had a Super Bowl-caliber defense and some great offensive weapons. But alas…I guess Gang Green never called Brady! DOH!

EAST RUTHERFORD, NEW JERSEY – AUGUST 26: Aaron Rodgers #8 of the New York Jets reacts after throwing a first quarter touchdown pass to Garrett Wilson #17 in a preseason game against the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium on August 26, 2023 in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
In any event…this is crazy. Can you imagine if Tom Brady came back to the Patriots and the AFC East had Josh Allen (Bills), Tua Tagovailoa (Dolphins), Rodgers (Jets) and Brady (Pats) all in the same division? That would be INSANE! I’m Davey Mac…now on to the rest of the Sports Report!
