Good morning, Sports fans!  Davey Mac here with another Sports Report for ya!  We’ve got news in baseball, basketball, football, and hockey!  But first…

…Let’s talk some Yankees, gang.  Specifically- let’s chat about Yankee general manager Brian Cashman and how much he has failed recently.  Well, all you have to do is watch the current baseball playoffs and you’ll see why.

Alex Rodriguez News Conference

For starters, you’ve got Bryce Harper of the Phillies.  Once again, Bruce is in the playoffs and the Phils are two games away from the NLCS.  But back in 2019, Harper batted his eyelids at the Yankees big-time when he was a free agent…even going so far as to say that Mickey Mantle is his favorite player of all time.  The guy was DESPERATE to be a Yankee.  But did Cashman pull the trigger on this left-handed megastar and league MVP?  No.  And we’ve been regretting it ever since.

Then, you’ve got southpaw starter Jordan Montgomery.  For some insane reason, Cashman traded away this lefty pitcher last year to the Cardinals in exchange for Harrison Bader.  A year later, the Yankees released Bader due to poor performance…meanwhile Monty is in the playoffs with the Texas Rangers where he’s looked great.

And don’t forget about Sonny Gray.  Sure Gray struggled in pinstripes…but he also received little run support.  Since Cashman got rid of him, Gray has made the All Star team, has a 2.79 ERA, and has led the Twins to the playoffs.

The bottom line is that Brian Cashman has FAILED at running this team.  He’s made one bad move after another in recent years…it’s simply time for a change.  The Yankees have to finally part ways with Cashman and start new.  I’m Davey Mac…that’s my two cents.
