Good morning, Sports fans! It’s your friend (or enemy) Davey Mac here with another scintillating Sports Report today! Big-time NBA action! NHL scoreboard! And Patrick Mahomes update! But first!
Former Phillies and Cardinals third baseman Scott Rolen has been voted into the Baseball Hall Of Fame. Rolen won 8 Gold Gloves and was named to 7 All Star teams in 17 seasons.

Now listen. This isn’t to be critical of Scott Rolen. Great player. But if Rolen is now in…can we finally put the Yankees’ Don Mattingly in already?! Good Lord!

Mattingly hit 26 points higher than Rolen (Don batted .307 in his career to Rolen’s .281). And, in almost four less seasons, Mattingly actually won more Gold Gloves than Rolen (Don has nine…Rolen has eight).

Furthermore, “Donnie Baseball” was a batting champion (.345 in 1984), the 1985 A.L. MVP, a three-time Silver Slugger award winner, and one of the classiest guys in the Major Leagues. I appreciate Scott Rolen…but if he’s in…Mattingly must be inducted into Cooperstown at once! I’m Davey Mac…that’s my Sports Report Two Cents!
