Let’s start with baseball…where the Phillies crushed the Diamondbacks last night in Game 2 of the National League Championship Series…ten to nothing.  Kyle Schwarber slugged two home runs in the game for the Phillies. Schwarber, by the way, now has 18 postseason home runs — matching Reggie Jackson for the most ever by a left-handed batter.  Starter Aaron Nola looked great on the mound as he picks up the win for the Phillies…who are now up two games to none.

The Phillies are now just two games away from getting to back-to-back World Series.  They also won two straight National League pennants in 2008 (when they beat the Tampa Bay Rays to win the World Series) and 2009 (when they lost to the New York Yankees in the Series).  And this year, they look pretty unstoppable.  Their hitting has been off the charts…and it’s been backed up by excellent pitching.  That’s a recipe for a championship run.

Give credit to the Phillie organization.  They’ve made the right deals in acquiring superstars and also keeping great talent on the team.  Between Bryce Harper, J.T. Realmuto, the aforementioned Schwarber, Aaron Nola, and more…this club has the talent where it counts.

But there’s still two more games left to the Phillies.  Arizona has been quite resilient all year…so we’ll see what happens.  Whoever comes out on top plays the winner of the Texas Rangers – Houston Astros matchup in the American League Championship Series.  It should be fun!  Now on to the Scoreboard!

  • Brady Says NFL Refs Calling Too Many Penatlies

Finally…Tom Brady thinks NFL football as we know it will eventually turn into flag football over time because the refs are calling too many penalties.  He says, quote, “You throw a 15-yard flag for something that, you know, 20 years ago maybe wouldn’t have had a flag.  That affects the game in a big way.”
