The Cincinnati Bengals defeated the Miami Dolphins, 27 to 15, on Thursday Night Football yesterday. But, unfortunately, the game itself took a backseat to a possible major scandal for the Dolphins and the NFL.
Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa suffered a head injury in the game…and it looks to be the second, serious, head injury in five days. But the Dolphins aren’t admitting anything…just yet.
In the first half of the game, Tua was tackled for a sack by Cincy defensemen Josh Tupou. The hit was not overly aggressive or anything. Tupou simply wrapped Tua around the waist and got him to the ground.
But upon hitting the turf, it appeared as if Tua’s head collided with the ground. This caused a disturbing scene as not only could Tua not get up, but he had no control over his hands or fingers. Tua was carted off the field and tests will be done. So why could his be a major scandal for the NFL and the Dolphins? Because it appears that Tua may have suffered a concussion on Sunday’s game. And now, many are furious that he was even in the game. If the Dolphins tried to hide a head injury from Sunday…it would mean the second significant brain injury to Tua in five days. Unacceptable.
Take a look at the videos we’ve procured below regarding this possible, explosive scandal that may take front and center in NFL coverage. The NFL has a serious problem with head injuries and needs to truly figure out how to protect players’ brains. This kind of thing really does negatively impact the sport…and is a major reason why more and more parents are not allowing their children to play youth football. The NFL needs to fix this issue NOW.
