FIFA said yesterday that the World Cup Final will be held at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford on July 19th, 2026. The World Cup itself will kick off in L.A.’s SoFi Stadium on June 12.

Of course, East Rutherford is used to having big-time soccer. When the old Giants Stadium was located there…they hosted matches during the 1994 Men’s World Cup. And before that, in the ’70’s and ’80’s, that stadium was the home of the New York Cosmos…which featured the great Pele.

Other places where the 2026 World Cup will be held include Florida, Massachusetts, Missouri, and more. This will then culminate with the Final taking place in Jersey! BOOM!

Eli & NFC Take Down Peyton & AFC In Pro Bowl Games
We start football…where they held the new Pro Bowl Games (a combination of skills competitions culminating in a flag football game) …and Eli Manning’s NFC Team beat Peyton Manning’s AFC Team…64 to 59. The Bucs’ Baker Mayfield was named offensive MVP…and the Saints’ Demario Davis was the defensive MVP. It is the second year in a row that Eli has beaten Peyton as coaches in this new format. Well done!

Patrick Mahomes Sr. Arrested On Suspected DWI
Baseball…former Major League Baseball pitcher and Patrick Mahomes’ father, Patrick Mahomes Senior, was arrested on suspicion of DWI. More on the story in the Celebrity Police Blotter.

Team Matthews Wins Pro Bowl
The NHL held their All Star Game on Saturday…Team Matthews won the Round Robin tournament…with the Toronto Maple Leafs’ Auston Matthews taking home the MVP. Congrats.

Basketball. The Knicks, Nets, and 76’ers were all inactive yesterday. Tonight the Nets go against the Warriors at the Barclays Center. The Nets are 20 and 28.
The 76’ers take on the Mavericks in Philadelphia. They will be without Joel Embiid…who will have surgery to repair his torn meniscus. The Sixers are hopeful that Embiid will return by the end of the season…but they still are unsure about when he can come back.
