Good morning, Sports fans! It’s Davey Mac here with the first Sports Report of the week for ya! Plenty of All Star action and a Yankee update! But first! Breaking news outta the NBA!
The Brooklyn Nets have traded superstar Kyrie Irving to the Dallas Mavericks…where he’ll join the Mavs’ emerging megastar in Luka Doncic. Brooklyn will receive Dorian Finney-Smith,Spencer Dinwiddie, and three draft picks . . . including a future first-rounder.

Now, incredibly, the Nets are fourth in the Eastern Conference at 32 and 20 and are expecting superstar Kevin Durant back in a week…so some experts are finding this move puzzling…word on the street is that the Nets will look to trade Durant as well.

End of a crazy era…where the Nets tried like hell to get that three-superstar team…they had Durant, James Harden, and Kyrie for the one season…but Kyrie got hurt in the playoff series against the Celtics and that was that. Soon after, Harden would demand a trade to the 76’ers…and now Kyrie is on his way to Dallas. Insane.

At the end of the day, this is a risky move for the Mavericks. If history is any indicator, look for the trade to pay dividends early and Kyrie to play well at the beginning of his Dallas tenure. But then…after some time goes by…will Kyrie grow discontent on what is now his fourth team (after asking to be traded from the Cavs, Celtics, and now Nets)? It’s a story we’ll keep our eye on!
