Good morning, Sports fans!   It’s your buddy Davey Mac here with a new edition of the Sports Report!   We’ve got the baseball!   The basketball!   The hockey and football!   But first!   Breaking news outta the NBA!

According to sources at ESPN…the New York Knicks have shockingly cut ties with General Manager Scott Perry.   This comes after a major surprise following a season in which the Knicks not only got to the playoffs…but won a series…making it to the Eastern Conference Semifinals.   They ultimately lost to the Heat…but it was pretty much recognized that the Knicks had a really good season.

While Perry isn’t getting fired…his contract is running out…and the Knicks apparently will not extend it.   So he’s gone.   Perry acquired Jalen Brunson…who had an incredible season…and also made some good deals like getting the likes of Josh Hart, Evan Fournier, and other role players who contributed well to the team.

He also appeared to be relatively well-liked…as opposed to other team presidents or general managers of the past with the Knicks (like Phil Jackson and Isiah Thomas).   In any event…while the Knicks’ future is bright…they’re now on the hunt for a new G.M.   Hopefully they hit this one out of the park and keep the good momentum in Madison Square Garden going.   I’m Davey Mac…that’s my two cents!
