Good morning, fellow Sports fans and appreciators of athletics! It’s your boy Davey Mac here with an action-packed Sports Report for ya on a Friday! We’re looking at the MLB scoreboard, a Game 7 in the NHL Playoffs, and a Philadelphia Eagles star does something nice for Philly…but first!
We gotta start with basketball…where the New York Knicks are on their way to the Eastern Conference Semifinals as the Knicks defeated the Philadelphia 76’ers last night in Game 6 of their epic series…118 to 115. The Knicks’ Jalen Brunson was amazing yet again…Brunson had 41 points and 12 assists to lead New York. Brunson, in fact, is just the second player in NBA history to score at least 35 points and have 10 rebounds in three straight playoff games (Oscar Robertson was the only other one to do it as he did in 1973).
Brunson was incredible but everybody played well last night…Donte DiVincenzo had 23 big points and OG Anunoby was fantastic with his defense (two blocks and two steals) and 19 points. The Knicks now win the series 4 games to 2 and advance to place the Pacers.
And that’s because earlier in the day…Indiana crushed the Bucks…120 to 98. Former Knicks Obi Toppin had 21 points for the Pacers who take the series…4 games to 2. So it’ll be the Pacers Vs. the Knicks in the semi’s…a matchup reminiscent of those classic Knicks-Pacers matchups from the ‘90’s when everyone hated Reggie Miller. Should be fun!
