Good morning, Sports fans! Davey Mac here and we’ve got a fun and fresh Sports Report for ya on a Thursday! The Yankees returning to the Bronx on fire! Devils Vs. Rangers results! NBA matchups! And an update on the Chiefs receiver car crash incident! But first, we’ve got a weird story from the NFL…
Aaron Rodgers in The News Again
…This is pretty funny. According to People magazine, Aaron Rodgers made $81.14 under the NFL’s brand-new performance-based pay system last season. That’s the lowest in the NFL.

Obviously the reason for this is because Rodgers suffered a season-ending injury after his fourth play of the very first game and was out for the rest of the season. In fact, he only took 0.33% of the Jets’ snaps in 2023. In contrast, San Francisco 49’ers quarterback Brock Purdy”s performance-based pay was $739,765…which almost doubled his salary (which was $870,000).

But, don’t feel too bad for Aaron. When Rodgers first signed with the Jets, he received a guaranteed $75 million to be paid to him over the course of a few years. So, he’s gonna be just fine. Kinda crazy story, right? I’m Davey Mac…now on to the rest of the Sports Report!

Chiefs Receiver Takes Responsibility For Car Crash
Staying with football…an update to the story about Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice whose Lamborghini caused a chain-reaction crash on a Dallas highway…well Rice says he has met with Dallas PD, he apologizes, and takes “full responsibility”…but says he was merely leasing the Lambo and wasn’t driving it.

Yankees Beat D-Backs In Extra Innings
Over to baseball…where the Yankees ended their seven-game road trip with an extra winning victory over the Diamondbacks yesterday…6 to 5. Aaron Judge starred in this one as Judge slugged his first home run of the year and also hit the ultimate game-winning double in the top of the 11th inning to give the Yankees their 6th run of the game. The Yankees end up winning 6 of their first 7 games on the road and return to Yankee Stadium on Friday (where they’ll take on the Blue Jays at 1 PM).

Meanwhile, the Mets game versus the Tigers was rained out. The two teams will play a double-header today at Citi Field. The Mets are looking for their first win of the year as they’re 0 and 4.
The Phillies fell to the Reds…4 to 1.

Rangers Defeat Devils
Hockey. The Rangers beat the Devils last night in a good one…4 to 3. The Rangers’ Artemi Panarin and Alexis Lafreniere each had a goal and an assist for the Rangers in the win. Chris Kreider had the game-winning goal in the third period.
