…The sports world is abuzz today as women’s college basketball phenom Caitlin Clark just broke the NCAA record for scoring the most points in the sport’s history. Clark, playing for Iowa University, scored 49 points last night against Michigan and got to 3,569 career points…a new record.

Incredibly, Caitlin’s 49 points last night are also an Iowa record for most points scored in a game…breaking the previous record of 48 points by Megan Gustafson. It is the fourth time in Clark’s amazing career that she has scored 45 points or more.

Clark is a once-in-a-generation talent. She is similar, in my opinion, to Steph Curry in terms of being a transcendent pure shooter. Quite simply- no one shoots better. And in terms of simply being a college hoops prodigy, she reminds me of “Pistol” Pete Maravich for how truly incredible her skills are combined with the crazy numbers she puts up.
