The Morning Rat Race

NEW YORK - MARCH 07: Actor James Gandolfini attends the sixth season premiere of the HBO series "The Sopranos" at the Museum Of Modern Art, on March 7, 2006 in New York City.

The Sopranos is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a special collection available on HBO’s streaming service MAX.  In addition to all six seasons, there are 15 deleted scenes, including three that have never been released, and over five hours of behind-the-scenes footage.  There’s also a new official TikTok account dedicated to 25-second clips of every episode.  On Thursday there will be “Family Reunion” fan screenings in Los Angeles and New York City with special guest appearances, Sopranos-themed snacks, and trivia.  There will also be a Sopranos-inspired Italian sandwich available through the Postmates delivery app in L.A. and New York.

The Sopranos TV Still

James Gandolfini as Tony Soprano and Edie Falco as Carmela Soprano seek counseling in HBO’s hit television series, “The Sopranos” (Year 3).

The Sopranos changed television forever.  Upon its release, critics were praising it as possibly the most cinematic show ever and many stated in 1999 during the show’s first season that The Sopranos was as good as any movie in theaters.  The acting, writing, cinematography, music, and story-telling were all top shelf.  Between creator David Chase’s brilliant vision of a modern mob family in North Jersey…and James Gandolfini’s iconic acting…the show instantly became iconic.

So, if you don’t have it, I strongly encourage you to sign up for MAX and check out The Sopranos 25th Anniversary Collection.  It’s seriously cool and the bonus scenes and podcast episodes are well worth it.  Cool collection for all Sopranos fans.  Bada-bing!
