Good morning, Sports fans! Davey Mac here with an exciting Sports Report for ya! We’ve got an update on the Aaron Rodgers Vs. Jimmy Kimmel feud, NBA and NHL matchups, Yankees acquisition, and more! But first!
Uh-oh, Giants fans! We thought all the drama in the offseason was gonna be with the Jets camp…but two Giants coaches have other ideas! According to an article on ESPN, Giants head coach Brian Daboll and defensive coordinator Wink Martindale may be on the outs. Upon the NFL regular season’s completion, Daboll fired two loyal assistants of Martindale (outside linebackers coach Drew Wilkins and defensive assistant Kevin Wilkins).

LANDOVER, MARYLAND – DECEMBER 18: Defensive coordinator Don “Wink” Martindale of the New York Giants looks on against the Washington Commanders at FedExField on December 18, 2022 in Landover, Maryland.
Upon hearing this news on Monday, Martindale cursed out Daboll and stormed out of the building. He apparently has gone to Sarasota, Florida and the Giants have not been able to get in touch with him! Yuh-yoh! Not a good look for the G-Men. While there were rumors that the two were not getting along earlier in the season…it seemed that they had straightened everything out. Guess not.

EAST RUTHERFORD, NEW JERSEY – DECEMBER 11: Head coach Brian Daboll of the New York Giants looks on against the Green Bay Packers during the first quarter in the game at MetLife Stadium on December 11, 2023 in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
It seems for now that Martindale will not be returning to the Giants…which is a shame. As a fan of Big Blue, I thought he did as good a job as he could have with the players he inherited from the Dave Gettleman era. The Giants always competed hard…and never seemed to quit in a game. They even held the Eagles to just 10 points in their final game of the regular season. Doesn’t look good for Wink to come back…but ya never know. Now on to the rest of the Sports Report!

MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA – JANUARY 15: New York Giants Don ‘Wink’ Martindale takes the field before the NFC Wild Card playoff game against the Minnesota Vikings at U.S. Bank Stadium on January 15, 2023 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
