Good morning, Sports fans!  Davey Mac is back with an action-packed Sports Report for ya today!  We’ve got big Yankee roster news! Jets update! A promise from Ben Simmons! And more! But first!

Did you see the incredible and inspiring news that Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin has made the final, 53-man roster as the team heads into the upcoming NFL season? WOW!

Of course, Hamlin had a terrible and frightening incident happen to him when he freakishly suffered a cardiac arrest live on Monday Night Football in a Buffalo Bills versus Cincinnati Bengals game.  Thankfully, the medical staff was able to get onto the field quickly and save Damar’s life.  But the moment was really scary.

However, that traumatic incident did not discourage Damar from wanting to play the sport of football. Hamlin is still just twenty-five years old and still believes he can compete at a very high level in the NFL.

Still…a lot of people were naturally about a player coming off of a cardiac arrest and stepping onto an NFL field the very next season.  But despite the concerns, the Bills and Damar have said that they’ve taken their time with the process…and feel that he is ready to come back.

Man…what an amazing story.  I mean…and I’m not trying to make light of this deal…but I just know that if I bang my knee on the coffee table I need to call out of work for two days!  And this guy goes through a terrifying medical emergency and goes after it the next year?!  Amazing!  I’ve seen a lot of inspiring things in sports…but this one ranks among the top.  It’s why Damar won an ESPY Award this year…this guy is awesome.

Congrats, Damar!  Whether you’re a Buffalo Bills fan…or just a fan of inspiring humans…it’s safe to say that Damar Hamlin rocks!  I’m Davey Mac…that’s my two cents!
