Good morning, Sports fans!  Davey Mac here back with your final Report of the week!  We’ve got a huge edition today for ya…MLB MVP’s announced…NFL matchups this weekend…NBA & NHL & more!  But first…

…A sports scandal is brewing as, according to an article from Sports Illustrated, sports reporter and studio host Charissa Thompson has recently admitted to making up reports during games!

Here’s the direct quote from Thompson: “I would make up the report sometimes because A., the coach wouldn’t come out at halftime or it was too late and I was like, I didn’t want to screw up the report, so I was like, ‘I’m just gonna make this up.’”

Yuh-yoh!  Meanwhile, sideline reporters across America have come out to strongly criticize Thompson for her journalist “technique” of simply creating a story if there isn’t one.

Molly McGrath on Twitter: "Young reporters: This is not normal or ethical. Coaches and players trust us with sensitive information, and if they know that you're dishonest and don't take your role seriously, you've lost all trust and credibility. https://t.co/yMnM1T995P / Twitter"

Tracy Wolfson on Twitter: "This is absolutely not ok, not the norm and upsetting on so many levels. I take my job very seriously, I hold myself accountable for all I say, I build trust with coaches and never make something up. I know my fellow reporters do the same. https://t.co/sl0T7w32u9 / Twitter"

Lisa Salters on Twitter: "Shocked. Disappointed. Disgusted. What we heard today called all sideline reporters into question. My job is an honor, a privilege and a craft at which I have worked so hard...(1/2) / Twitter"

Michele Tafoya on Twitter: "Disappointed to say the least. I could not have lived with myself if I did this. Trust me, not all sideline reporters make stuff up. Doesn't matter how benign the comments might be. It's professional fraud. Sad. https://t.co/Lckp7EgkG9 / Twitter"

Andrea Kremer on Twitter: "As one of only 3 women in the @ProFootballHOF I'm sickened by the insulting mockery being made of sideline reporting, a challenging role primarily manned by women - most of whom understand & respect the values of journalism and are integral, trusted members of a broadcast team. / Twitter"

Ouch!  I don’t know if Charissa Thompson is gonna survive this scandal!  Oh, by the way–breaking news!  Charissa Thompson reports that Jets head coach Robert Saleh says: “Zach Wilson is the greatest quarterback of all time and we’re gonna win the Super Bowl with him as the starting qb.  Mark my words.”  Oh, fine…I made that up.  I was only pulling a Charissa!  I’m Davey Mac…now on to the Scoreboard!
