The Morning Rat Race

Good morning, people!  Davey Mac here with another Sports Report for ya!  A lot is going on and we’ve got you covered!  But first!

Yankee general  manager Brian Cashman has started even more controversy…this time pissing off Giancarlo Stanton and his agent.  According to a report on ESPN, when speaking with the New York Daily News, Cashman said that Stanton is “going to wind up getting hurt again more likely than not because it seems to be part of his game.”

Now, Stanton’s agent, Joel Wolfe, has responded, saying:  “I think it’s a good reminder for all free agents considering signing in New York both foreign and domestic that to play for that team you’ve got to be made of Teflon, both mentally and physically because you can never let your guard down even in the offseason.”  Great…so now Stanton’s agent is warning other free agents NOT to come to New York!  Awful!

Now, keep in mind, I actually agree with Cashman on how much tie Stanton has missed.  No doubt.  Injuries have put him on the sidelines far too many times.  But…a MLB gm shouldn’t talk publicly like this otherwise superstar free agents will be hesitant to come to the team.

This bring me to my next point.  Why the H-E-Double-Hockey-Sticks does Brian Cashman STILL have a job as Yankees G.M.?!   The team missed the playoffs entirely this year…aster underperforming in 2022, 2021, and 2020.  Cashman WAS a good general manager…but that was years ago at this point.  The Yankees desperately need a change in the front office.

Cashman is now officially a liability to the team.  Not only has he performed extremely poorly in recent seasons…but high-powered agents are WARNING potential star free agents to stay AWAY from the Yankees!  It’s time, Hal Steinbrenner!  You need to fire Cashman before we head to another Dark Ages period like the late ’80’s/early ’90’s (when the team was awful).  Make the move, Hal!  FIRE CASH!  I’m Davey Mac…that’s my two cents!  Now on to the Scoreboard!

  • Padres Looking To Deal Soto

The San Diego Padres are reportedly looking to trade All Star outfielder Juan Soto because the team is in financial trouble and this would help them save money.  I would say Soto would be a perfect guy for the Yankees…except gm Brian Cashman seems to be alienating free agents!
