Good morning, Sports fans! And we’ve got a HUGE Sports Report for ya filled with all kinds of breaking news…so let’s not waste time…THIS JUST IN—
—We start with football where we have breaking news…according to ESPN…Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots are expected to part ways Thursday after a remarkable 24 seasons together, ending an unmatched run in NFL history that included six Super Bowl titles. Belichick helped lead the Patriots to nine Super Bowl appearances and six Super Bowl titles. Belichick, 71, leaves New England with 333 career victories, ranking second all-time behind Don Shula and his 347, 17 division titles, the most by a head coach in NFL history…and two Super Bowl rings as Defensive Coordinator of all time.

It’s a pretty shocking development since Belichick has spoken on Monday to the press and stated that he wanted to return as Patriots coach. He said that he was willing to give up general managers duties, but that he’d still like to stay on as head coach. But something must have changed as sometimes yesterday he seemed to have changed his mind. He and Patriots owner Robert Kraft talked and there was said to be no serious disagreement…but that both men decided it was best to change course.

Of course, Belichick’s collaboration with legendary quarterback Tom Brady is also iconic…and we’ve never seen a head coach-quarterback combination that successful in the NFL ever. Period. The guys made insane history together.

Meanwhile, Belichick has not stated that he is done with coaching completely. I’m sure there will be interest from other NFL teams…how could there not be? So the question is: would you want Belichick to coach your team? It’d be hard to say no. I’m Davey Mac…now on to the rest of the Scoreboard!
