Good morning, Sports fans! Dave Mac here with a big Sports Report for ya following a little mini-vacay yesterday! We’ve got a full plate today with the baseball, the basketball, the football, and even the tennis. But first!
Did you see this? Holy mackerel, folks, this is kind scary. During an Atlanta Braves – Colorado Rockies game last night at Coors Field…the Braves’ super-talented outfielder, Ronald Acuna Jr., was accosted by fans who ran onto the field. Check this out.

Apparently, the first guy wanted a selfie with Acuna…while some feel the second guy may have wanted to do him harm. Either way…this isn’t cool. We’ve had scary situations like this before…and it can be traumatizing for the athletes.
Bizarre scene at Coors Field, as three fans got on the field and actually made contact with Ronald Acuña Jr. Fortunately, nobody was hurt.

But Bally Sports South announcers Brandon Gaudin and Peter Moylan were understandably frustrated.

I’m not gonna show it here…but remember tennis star Monica Seles? While playing in a match, a crazy fan ran onto the court and stabbed her in the back. It turned out the psycho was a Stefi Graf (Seles’ rival at the time) fan. While she would still play…Seles was not the sheer dominant force that she was before the attack. Terrible. Thankfully, it appears that Acuna suffered no injuries of any kind. But he did describe the weird situation as “scary.”
Unreal scene here at Coors Field.

It was a blur, but it appears that three fans ran onto the field to attack Atlanta’s Ronald Acuña Jr. between innings.

Acuna is one of the best players in the game. He currently is hitting .330 with 28 home runs and 74 RBIs and is an excellent defender as well. Acuna Jr. is one of the favorites to win the National League MVP this year. But regardless of what level a player is…all professional athletes deserve to compete and perform without the stress of being attacked. That isn’t cool for anyone! And furthermore…where was the Coors Field security? I mean, it took those guys a while to get at the fans. I’m just saying…this was bad all around! I’m Davey Mac…and that’s my two cents! Now onto the scoreboard!
