Good morning, Sports fans!  It’s Davey Mac here and we’ve got a pretty damn big Sports Report for ya today! Baseball! Basketball! And, of course, football!  Speaking of which…did you see the brand new theme song that ABC debuted last night for Monday Night Football?  If not…don’t worry…we’ve grabbed the video for ya.

The new theme is a cover of the Phil Collins classic “In The Air Tonight” by Chris Stapleton, Snoop Dogg, and Cindy Blackman Santana. Check it out and then come back here for some good pigskin convo because we’ve got a lot to say!

So what do you think? Are you into this new song? Or do you prefer some of the more classic versions? Check out some of those tracks below…

Starcade Media on Twitter: "We don't know what that new Monday Night Football theme even is? Just a cover of In the Air Tonight? I'm sure there will be more to it, but come on now, this was perfect! 👇 We're not even 40 yet, so we hope this doesn't mean that we're in our old men scream at clouds phase! 🤣 https://t.co/gdajlSSQyf pic.twitter.com/TYPRknyg2W / Twitter"

So what do you think? Are you into the new theme or not? One thing that should be noted is that the head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Mike Tomlin, has been using the original Phil Collins version to get his team pumped up before games for years.  Apparently was onto the Phil Collins-and-football combo before anyone else.

Anyway, I still think my favorite version of the Monday Night Football theme is your classic, 1970s, big orchestra, instrumental track.  That song just screams FOOTBALL.  And it builds the sports up like a movie.  Maybe it’s because I’m a huge Star Wars fan…but I always felt like the ’70s theme had a bit of a John Williams sound to it…and when your vibe sounds like “The Maestro”…that’s always a good thing.

At the end of the day…I still like this better than the ESPN College Game Day theme.  That one, I hate to say it (because I love the show), really annoys me.  I don’t know who these men are who are coming to my city nor do I want them here.  I’m Davey Mac…and that’s my two cents.
