Davey Mac in the house for another Sports Report! Baseball, basketball, football, and hockey are all in the Report today! But first!
Did you hear what Yankees superstar Aaron Judge told reporters yesterday? The new Yanks captain says that he’s been taking reps in left field and even at first base and will play anywhere the Yankees need him to play this season.

Now, while I love the attitude, and think that Judge is being a great teammate with this mentality…I also worry that this move is a sign that the Yankees outfield may be an issue this season. I mean…if they had gone out and gotten a big-time outfielder…Number 99 could stay in right field where the Judge’s Chambers people are!

Furthermore…I fear that this could be a hint that the Yankees do not have much faith in outfielder Aaron Hicks. Hicks was supposed to the Yankees’ starting center fielder…but had a horrendous season in 2022. He hit just .216 with 8 home runs while striking out 109 times in 384 at-bats. Brutal.

But, perhaps this is a way to get Giancarlo Stanton in the outfield more often. With Judge playing in left field…you could have Harrison Bader in center…and Stanton in right. This could free up the Yankees’ DH situation and get more players some at-bats.

In any event…Aaron Boone has a decision to make. Judge is being a solid team captain right away…but it’s ultimately Boone’s final decision. I’m Davey Mac…that’s my Sports Two Cents.
