Good morning, Sports fans! And happy holiday season to ya! Davey Mac back with another Sports Report for ya! Week 14 of the NFL season kicks off tonight! Joel Embiid with another monster game! Hockey matchups! And more! But first!
Well…if you’re a Yankee fan…your holiday present may have arrived early this year! According to a report on ESPN…where the Yankees have finally acquired All Star Juan Soto from the San Diego Padres…though the Yanks did have to trade seven players…including young pitching stars Michael King and Johnny Brito.

The Yanks will also part with backup catcher Kyle Higashioka and a couple of prospects. Soto comes to the Yankees off a season where he hit 35 home runs with 109 RBI and a .275 average with San Diego. Soto is actually a career .284 hitter and has 160 career homer runs in five-plus seasons. Oh, and he’s still just 25 years old!

And while this doesn’t solve all of the Yankees’ problems…they were historically bad offensively last year for a Yankee squad…Soto’s left-handed bat instantly brings more balance to a right-handed-heavy lineup. Yeah…the Yanks giving up Michael King sucks…he was maybe their best bullpen pitcher last year…but Soto can be a real difference maker. Should be fun to see what Juan does in the Bronx! Nets Defeat Atlanta
Basketball. The Nets beat the Hawks last night in a good one…114 to 113. Mikal Bridges had 32 points and 6 assists for Brooklyn…who improve to 11 and 9 for the season.

Embiid Dominates As Sixers Beat Wiz
The 76’ers took down the Wizards…131 to 126. Joel Embiid had 50 points, 13 rebounds, and 7 assists for Philly in the win…as the reigning MVP continues to be one of the best players in the league. The Sixers are now 13 and 7.

Knicks Vs. Celtics On Friday
The Knicks were off. They play the Celtics on Friday in Boston. The Knicks are 12 and 8 for the year.

Hockey Tonight: Devils Vs. Kraken
Hockey. The Devils, Rangers, and Flyers were all inactive last night. This evening the Devils face the Kraken in Seattle. The Devils are 12-10-1 this season.
