Good morning, Sports fans!   Davey Mac here with a new Sports Report for ya!   NHL MVP is announced!   Update on Saquon Barkley!   Baseball and basketball and more!   But first!

Who else remembers Football Follies as created by NFL Films?   When I was a kid, I would rent this at the local video store every Saturday (along with WrestleMania III).   There was nothing better for fans of sports and comedy.   Hell, they often had legendary Looney Tunes voiceover artist Mel Blanc doing a ton of the narration!

Jets V 49ers

Created by Ed Sabol and further evolved by his son Steve Sabol…these funny football videos made the game so a little lighter yet still entertaining..as they filled the screen with hysterical bloopers.

NFL Films was always known to getting the best and most high quality behind-the-scenes looks at the game at the professional level.   They were the first to mic up players and coaches…and made great advancements in capturing the essence of football.

  • Mets Lose Again---Now 8 Games Under .500

They’re feeling the heat at Citi Field…as the Mets lost last night to the Brewers…2 to 1…as the Mets drop to a season-low eight games under .500 at 35 and 43.    The Mets have lost seven of their last ten games and both manager Buck Showalter and general manager Billy Eppler’s futures may be uncertain as the Mets have the highest payroll in baseball (at nearly $500 million this year once luxury taxes are added in).

  • Knicks Release Rose

The New York Knicks are not picking up veteran point guard Derrick Rose’s $15.6 million team option for next season…no surprise there.   While Rose was a positive veteran on the team and a good player…his minutes were drastically down this year and you can use that fifteen million dollars in better ways.
