Good morning, Sports fans! It’s Davey Mac here back with the first Sports Report of the week for ya!   We’ve got all kinds of things going on but let’s talk some college hoops first!

Tonight, UCONN takes on San Diego State for the men’s NCAA College Basketball Championship.   And there’s a really cool story brewing.   UCONN’s coach, Danny Hurley, is set to accomplish something pretty special.

Miami v Connecticut

Hurley was a star player for St. Anthony’s High School and then parlayed that to great success with Seton Hall and later in the NBA.   The talented southpaw player had great ball-handling skill and had the ability to score as well.   But now he’s all in as a coach.

Why this is a big deal is that Hurley’s father, Bobby Hurley Senior, is a legendary coach himself.   In fact, Hurley Sr. is just one of four high school coaches ever to be inducted in the Basketball Hall Of Fame.

Furthermore, Danny’s brother, Bobby Hurley Junior, was a huge star at Duke where he won two National Championships as their starting point guard.   But tonight…it’s all about Danny.   Finally…he’s the Hurley getting the spotlight.   As a “little brother” myself…I feel great for Danny!   Go, Coach H!   Win it all this evening!   I’m Davey Mac…that’s my Sports Two Cents!
