Hey Rat Rock Nation, summer is in full effect and before you know it “fall” will be here, with that we want to make sure your getting it all in on what the Jersey Shore has to offer and not miss out on any of the great things that you and your friends and family can be part of to make it the best one yet and unforgettable.
I’ve been living here at the Jersey Shore now for over 20 years in Belmar and I love it, and was brought down here as a kid growing up. I did grow up only a half hour away and it was really easy to get my feet in the sand if I needed to get away and I loved to be in that Atlantic Ocean and still do.
The Jersey Shore has done so much for me and my family including getting to work with my other family at 95.9 The Rat, and getting to party with the best of the best. The Jersey Shore has so much to offer and really is a great place to have a great family day out or to get you out of any situation you might be going through.
If you or even need to get the family out and about and are looking for a great day, here are some ideas at The Jersey Shore to keep everyone with a smile on their faces. I came up with a list that might really help you and the family, friends out. Remember it’s all about having fun and living it up, that to me is what the “Real” Jersey Shore is about.

1. Whale Watching
HOLD UP!! I know the perfect person to to have the most fun and get the greatest photos of all time with, you will have people not believing you when you show them some. My boy Bill McKim’s Jersey Shore Whale Watch Tour has the best of the best on catching one of God’s best creatures under the sea doing what they do best. They are truly a beautiful animal and to see one up close and personal gives a whole new meaning on life . You will enjoy the day on the water and when an over a 1000 pound whale jumps out of the water you will honestly be taken back. Don’t take my word for it go check it out.

2. Atlantic City
What can not be said about AC !! That is a Jersey Shore must have between the nightlife and hitting up the casinos, putting bets down and trying to hit big on the tables and getting out to those beach parties. That is why Atlantic City was made and for us to enjoy it for. Rough day at home, the office, whatever the case may be AC can help you out and make you have a bunch of great stories to tell when you leave there.
3. Get Rocked Out At The Stone Pony
Here at the Rat we are always doing shows and keeping you informed on what tickets we have to throw your way and ” The Stone Pony” is never a place that will keep you without a smile on your face. Right off the beach and having your favorite band live and in person will keep you going. Pack up a great time and keep some room for a smile on your face cause when you walk in and out you will have them both. Always a great time hanging out there and make sure you catch some of that before summer ends.

4. Monmouth Park
Now here is a very cheap and very fun day ! Check this out just $6 bucks for General Admission and is BYO too for the Picnic area. Those gates open up not for just the pony’s but for us the public at 9am on weekends, 10 am on Friday’s. It’s all about live racing with the beautiful horses going around and a great place to hang out and enjoy with family and friends.
7. PNC Arts Center
A lot of shows still coming our way and we want you part of it !! Just think since August just kicked off, and on the 11th of this month we are going to have the legendary “Rat Fest ” that will be featuring Disturbed and and Breaking Ben to headline, something you don’t want to miss. 8. Party Boats
There are many of these going around and are a lot of fun to be on. The one that stands out of my head and was invited on also had a blast that I want to share with you is the ” Belmar Tiki Boat ” this original boat is 100% pure fun ! This boat is a must stop, located in the Belmar Marina, you and a bunch of pals gather up and drink up as the afternoon goes by you will be having the time of your life catching in the summertime on your face.
9. See A Movie On The Beach
Lots of local beaches are doing this and let me tell ya if you have never done this and want to bring the family or your significant other out for a wonderful date, this has your answer. This is a great way to celebrate summer and enjoy it for sure. I just saw “Point Break” on the beach and loved every second of it.

10. Barnegat Lighthouse
The Barnegat Lighthouse has been bringing so many visitors every year and rightfully so because it is so famously historic. It is located in the State Park at 208 Broadway Barnegat Light NJ, and when your up there you will never be disappointed on har far and beautiful the sites are.
11. Jenkinson's Boardwalk
If you have the family out and are looking for some great fun, here is where you can not only catch the ocean breeze, but the rides and boardwalk games are all within walking distance from one stop to the next. Plus who does not love checking out our sea friends, well Jenks Aquarium has that covered too. Plus there is so man great restaurants’ and seafood places over there you will 100% find something you like, and if your like me the bars are awesome with the night life too.
12. Bars And Restaurants
If your coming to the Jersey Shore it is all about partying and eating up the great food. Here at The Rat we have so many list of great places to go to and enjoy weather it be best burger to best pizza to who has the best craft beer. Nightlife and live music is another reason too. Party life is what you need ? Then come to the Jersey Shore and we will take care of the rest in any nightclub or bar for you.
13. Fishing
If you love being on the open waters and casting a line then the Jersey Shore is where you want to be at with all the fish in season and the beautiful boats down here, there is one that will definitely fit your needs and get you, friends, family out there to cast lines for the day. Pack up a cooler and spend the day on the Atlantic catching some fish and a great time this summer.
14. Casino Pier & Breakwater Beach
Seaside Heights New Jersey has really got something special here with this one and a bunch of fun will be coming your way when you attend this place. I mean this one has it all in one with the bumper cars, to the roller coasters, to the boardwalk games, the food, the drinks, and the beach, this list can go on and on but just a perfect way to get out of the house and take a ride to this one and really let loose and have a great one at that.
15. Parasail
Love being on the water and the beach ? Let’s get you literally a BIRDS EYE view from up top and have the boat pull us around about 500 feet in the sky!! This summer you and friend or family member get brave and really get up there and have some fun, something you might be a little nervous at first but once your in the sky and doing it your stomach will settle and really will be at peace. Trust me I have done it and would 120% do it all again.

16. BlueClaws Game
Take the family out to get a night of baseball !! And of course make sure you swing through the Rat Trap and grad some beers out there. The family will love it and so will you once the beer is in hand. Lets go BlueClaws Baseball.
