Outstanding Places To Get A Wonderful Hot Breakfast In Monmouth & Ocean

February Is National Hot Breakfast Month.

It’s those cold months that we most look forward to eating a hearty hot breakfast.
National Hot Breakfast Month is celebrated every February to encourage everyone to set aside some extra time every morning to a make hot, fresh breakfast.

You know what they say about breakfast… It’s the most important meal of the day!

You may be surprised at how much better you feel throughout the workday when you allow yourself plenty of time to fully wake up, have your first cup of coffee or tea, and chow down on a nutritious, or not so nutritious breakfast.

We should all really focus on a more nutritious breakfast during the work week. I save the sausages and home fries for weekends.

In the past, I’ve made overnight oats with fruit so that when I wake up and head out the door, I just grab a Mason jar of my overnight oats and head to work.

Avocado toast can be made in less than 5 minutes.

I keep a Nutri-Bullet in my office along with a container of protein powder if I wake up late and don’t have time to put something together in my kitchen.

Fuel For The Body & Mind

Being energized for the 9 to 5 slave drive allows you to be more productive. Breakfast fuels your mind to take on those extra tasks that the boss throws your way.

If you don’t have the energy to cook so early in the morning, then get in the car, crank up the heat crank up the WRAT, and head over to one of your favorite local diners or restaurants for a nice hot bowl of oatmeal, or an omelette with all your favorite accompaniments like home fries, sausage, bacon, or our state favorite, pork roll.

Speaking of home fries and sausages, some of my favorite local places serve filling hot plates of goodness, and now I’m going to suggest some of my favorites here in Monmouth & Ocean County.

  • Amy's Omelette House - 444 Ocean Blvd N, Long Branch, NJ 07740

    Our home away from home nearly every Sunday morning when we lived in Ocean Twp. Now we visit a little less often. The menu is a mountain full of omelettes, pancakes, French Toast, breakfast bowls, breakfast burritos and so much more.

  • The Buttered Biscuit - 700 Main St, Bradley Beach, NJ 07720

    Comfort food with a twist. They make fresh corned beef hash, none of that canned crap will do at this local slice of heaven. The biscuits are some of the best I have ever had. Light and flaky and loaded with honey butter.

    Try one of David’s specials. On the menu this week its, salmon or crab cake eggs Benedict, along with cinnamon honey pecan cream cheese stuffed French toast. 

     

  • Sandy's Cozy Corner - 414 NJ-70, Lakehurst, NJ 08733

    I love this place. You’d swear your mother or grandmother was in the kitchen making you a hearty meal. This place is homey and cozy, as the name reflects. Dino C. said it best in his review: “Sandys is my absolute favorite place to have breakfast!! Service is always fantastic. The food comes out, fresh and hot and is absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection! I have been coming here for years, and have never been disappointed! A+!”

    Sandy’s Country Gravy Over Homemade Biscuits, with a couple of eggs and home fries is quite possibly my perfect breakfast.

  • Shut Up And Eat - 804 Main St, Toms River, NJ 08753

    This is that fun quirky place I’ve mentioned many times. they have some really unique breakfast, brunch, and lunch choices. Open 7days a week from 6:30am to 3:30 pm

     

     

  • Grits & Grace - : 507 Atlantic City Blvd, Bayville, NJ 08721

    Open at 7am, this is a quaint place with an unusual menu. The husband and wife who own Grits & Grace care about what they’re serving customers.  Food made with top quality ingredients and good vibes.

     

  • C&G's Country Cafe - : 213 NJ-37 UNIT 9, Toms River, NJ 08753

    The dining room is clean and bright with small tables and a counter. Friendly and attentive wait staff, and fantastic giant omelettes.  My choice is the “Old Salty”, Made with 3 extra large eggs, smoked salmon, and scallion cream cheese. I don’t even miss the bagel. Lots of travelers who stay in the hotel down the road eat here because the hotel staff gives the place a high five. The locals give this place near perfect reviews. Gluten free? No problem, they’ll look out for you. 

  • Rise N Shine Diner - 14 Main St, Eatontown, NJ 07724

    Cheery, laid-back joint serving diner classics, including breakfast sandwiches, pancakes & burgers. Looking for a quick breakfast before heading to the job site or office? This is your joint. They say they have the best food at the Jersey Shore. You be the judge. They survived the closing of Fort Monmouth, and the fact that they stayed in business is a testament to the love and support of the community. 

  • Farmingdale Breakfast Club - 14 Main St, Farmingdale, NJ 07727

    Several WRAT listeners have sung their praises. I would have never known about this place without their recommendations. I love the RAT ROCK NATION! A great menu, a great staff, and very reasonable prices.

     

     

  • Meemom's Wall - 1825 NJ-35, Wall Township, NJ 07719 and other locations in Monmouth & Ocean

    Gotts needs to scarf down the “Hearty Hangover Bowl.” It’s house made pork roll hash, 2 scrambled eggs, sausage gravy, cheddar jack cheese, caramelized onions, and scallions with your choice of toast.  If you love French toast, then check this place out.

     

  • The Union Market & Gallery - 120 W Main St, Tuckerton, NJ 08087

    This place may qualify as one of those hidden gems in plain sight. Such a cool vibe with a menu full of dishes that pay tribute to Alternative, Punk, Hip Hop, and Rock n Roll bands and tunes. Grab the NOTORIOUS P.I.G.” – Bacon, egg & cheese on a French toasted croissant served with a side of jam or syrup.

    They also have a juice bar with concoctions named for bands like The Cure, The Clash, and Blondie. Don’t forget to grab a cup of their amazing coffee.  This is certainly my kind of place.
