Iowa University’s basketball phenom, Caitlin Clark, has broken yet another record…and this one is a biggie. By scoring 35 points in yesterday’s win over Ohio State, she now surpasses “Pistol” Pete Maravich as the single greatest scorer in Division I history…female or male! Maravich had scored 3,667 points in his legendary career…and now Clark stands at 3,685.

It really is amazing to see how many records Clark has broken as she quite possibly now become the greatest women’s basketball player in college b-ball history. She keeps breaking records…and her team keeps winning.

Right now, Iowa is ranked Number 6 in the nation. But after beating No. 2 Ohio State yesterday, they could go up in the rankings. And Clark is leading the way with her stellar play.

On to the NBA…where the Knicks took down the Cavs last night…107 to 98. Jalen Brunson did have to leave the game early…but it turns out just to be a bruised knee as the X-rays were all negative for a serious injury. Meanwhile, the Knicks’ Dante DiVincenzo had 28 points and 6 rebounds…as the Knicks improve to 36 and 25…4th in the Eastern Conference.

LeBron Becomes Only Player To Score 40,000 Points
Staying with basketball…LeBron James is now the first player in NBA history to surpass 40,000 points. LeBron got his 40,000th point against the Nuggets on Saturday. Amazing.

Over to hockey. The Devils lost to the Kings…5 to 1. The Devils are now 30-27-4 for the season.
Trevor Moore #12 of the Los Angeles Kings heads for the net as Jesper Bratt #63 of the New Jersey Devils defends.
The Rangers and Flyers were inactive. This evening the Flyers face the Blues in Philly. The Flyers are 32-23-7.
The Rangers take on the Panthers in Madison Square Garden. The Rangers are currently 40-17-4 on the year.

NFL Reporter Chris Mortensen Dies
Football. Award-winning NFL reporter Chris Mortensen died Sunday morning at the age of 72, his family announced. Mortensen joined ESPN in 1991 and was a regular contributor to the network’s NFL shows and SportsCenter. Mortensen had been battling throat cancer for several years.
