Good morning, Sports fans! Davey Mac here and we are back with a fast-paced Sports Report for ya! The Yankees and Red Sox play two! Devils sign an old face! NBA owners want stars to play! And more!
Let’s start with football…where Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers finally released a statement yesterday on Instagram regarding his season-ending Achilles injury. Check out the pic below…his statement is in the caption.
Meanwhile, head coach Robert Saleh says that he’d be shocked if Rodgers retired. Rodgers is signed with the Jets through 2025. What do you think? Have we seen the last of this future Hall Of Famer? Or will Rodgers return to Gang Green?
Many superstar athletes want to go out on their terms…and many hate going out on an injury. I think Aaron Rodgers will come back and play the next two seasons for the Jets. But still, it’s devastating news nonetheless.

Saleh also said that backup quarterback Zach Wilson is their QB1. Wilson will indeed be getting the start this weekend against the Dallas Cowboys. And if you watched the excellent HBO’s Hard Knocks docuseries…you would have seen that Rodgers seemed to enjoy mentoring Wilson…and that Wilson likewise appreciated the help from Rodgers. What if Wilson turns around and becomes the Round One draft pick that the Jets projected him as?

It’ll be interesting to see what happens going forward. There are so many balls in the air for the Jets right now. Should they go after a veteran quarterback like Carson Wentz, Matt Ryan, Nick Foles, etc.?.
Should Gang Green make a trade to Miami for Mike White? Should they make a serious push for Tom Brady? He would be a star even bigger than Rodgers and could bring that pizazz to the team. Or should the Jets just roll with Zach Wilson? It’ll be fascinating to see!
