I like the occasional visit to a good all you can eat buffet. Anytime we go to Atlantic City, we tend to choose all you can eat buffets for the vast selection of dishes and the best bang for your buck.

The only time we choose conventional dining while in Atlantic City, is when we’re celebrating an anniversary or a birthday.

Our favorite place to dine in AC is Capriccio’s, located in Resorts Casino Hotel.
Excellent food, great atmosphere, and white glove service. Absolute perfection every time.

For all you can eat joints, we like the Borgata and the Hard Rock. Thank goodness we only go a couple of times a year.

All you can eat buffet visits for me are a special treat. It’s hard not to go hog wild when you have over a hundred different dishes staring you in the face.

The best way to approach a buffet is to survey the items first. Start with the appetizers that appeal to you most and take just one plate at a time to your table. You have to pace yourself.

When you’re done, sit for a few minutes, digest a little.

Next, go in for the entrées and the sides. Again, peruse the buffet and only take the things that you really enjoy. Taking a slice of turkey from the carving station just because it’s available is a no no.

If you’re salivating over the prime rib, then focus only on the prime rib. You don’t want to fill up on things that don’t excite you.
When it comes to the side dishes and the desserts, rinse and repeat.

I find that planning out a strategy before you dive in is the key to fully enjoying your buffet experience. If you don’t have a plan  and just throw a little bit of everything on your plate,  you’re just going to be overstuffed, unhappy, and filled with regret.

It’s been about 7 or 8 months since I’ve hit a buffet, and I feel good about that. I also look forward to visiting a buffet in South Jersey I’ve never been to. I’ll let you know which one in the list below.

I recently got into a discussion with a few food loving friends about finding good buffets here in the Garden State.

I followed that conversation by browsing through a few of my favorite food pages on social media to see what buffets were mentioned most.

South Jersey folks had a lot to say about buffets, and not just the ones in Atlantic City.

I put together a list based on my conversations and the social media responses to all you can eat buffets here New Jersey.
Enjoy!

  • Raku AYCE Sushi & Japanese Buffet - 104 NJ-70, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034

I am most excited to try Raku.

According to Rich Louie, a member of the South Jersey Food Scene, This place is upscale. They have a liquor license and I understand the Sake’ selections are both diverse and well served.

The concept of AYCE Sushi is done right. Not like some of the Buffets where you choose from premade pieces already set out to choose from.

Everything is prepared to order. I’ve been to a few like this over the years, and prefer this style. Even though it is upscale, it is priced affordably.

The staff is friendly and helpful and they aren’t eager to rush you out the door. There is a regular buffet area filled with tasty items. Rich said, the standout selection at the buffet is the Grilled Pork Belly.

    Lunch $25.99  Dinner $35.99

  • Borgata Buffet - 1 Borgata Way, Atlantic City, NJ 08401

I like Borgata’s dinner buffet slightly more than Harvest Buffet at the Hard Rock. Borgata

The breakfast & brunch buffet at Borgata is hands down the best value in all of Atlantic City.  The selections are plentiful and always hot.  You really must implement my planning strategy as mentioned in the article above.

If you’re staying overnight, there’s a gym in the hotel to work off your meal.

    Breakfast: $21.99
    Lunch: $25.99
    Dinner: $39.99
    Brunch:$30.99

  • Di Paolo's Italian Ristorante - 28 Broad St, Penns Grove, NJ 08069

Thank goodness for Marilyn Johnson, the creator of the South Jersey Food Scene page on Facebook. I’d never know anything about the restaurants outside of Atlantic City if it weren’t for her and all the passionate foodies who belong to this page.

These folks hipped me to Di Paolo’s many all you can eat weekly menus.

The one that first grabbed my interest, is the All You Can Eat Sunday Brunch from 10:30am – 3:00pm.. What an incredible feast!

For $39.95 per person, you can indulge in the made to order omelette station, waffles, pancakes, & French toast.

A carving station that includes prime rib & filet mignon, soup & salad station, a hot buffet that includes seafood, pasta, sausage, bacon vegetables and of course, a dessert station.

Thanks to SJFS for putting Di Paolo’s on my radar. Don’t miss out on Di Paolo’s Happy Hour Buffet.

  • Mount Holly International Buffet - 1710 NJ-38, Mt Holly, NJ 08060

This place has been mentioned many times across several food pages. There are over 350 items on this Chinese, Japanese, and American buffet. They also have Hibachi at no additional charge.

Snow Crab Legs, Sushi, Hibachi, Steak, Oysters, Clams, Crawfish, all Jumbo Shrimp including fan favorite Coconut Shrimp! All included in the Dinner Buffet for only $19.95 per person.

  • DOSA GRILL (Authentic South Indian Cuisine) - 1980 NJ-27 #3, North Brunswick Township, NJ 08902

More than just dosas, this vegetarian Indian restaurant has diverse options & a lunch buffet. I’m a huge fan of Indian food. I have never been to a vegetarian Indian buffet, but according to my foodie friend Vijay, I need to check this place out for lunch.  Crispy Pakoras, here I come!

    Lunch Buffet $19.99 Per Person

  • Fortune Buffet - 1311 NJ-37, Toms River, NJ 08755

This is my hometown Chinese Buffet. Always clean, and the food is constantly replenished, which means it’s always fresh.

You can choose from Chinese cuisine, sushi, American cuisine, a salad bar, and Hibachi.

The dumplings and shumai are the first items I grab. One of my favorite things about this buffet, is that they have traditional Chinese spare ribs and humungous beef ribs.

As far as seafood goes, they have plenty. Scallops, clams, oysters, mussels snow crab, salmon, and on occasion flounder.

When we go to the movies, this is where we eat dinner first.

Not a true buffet style restaurant, but an all you can eat Brazilian steak house. Carnivores, this is for you. They also have a signature salad bar and they offer ala carte items. Coming in March 2024, a full  service bar!

For $59.99, you get the full Rodizio. Large skewers of beef, lamb, sausage, pork, and chicken brought to your table by gauchos and sliced to your liking.

I have never had room for dessert, but my dinner companions have had the coconut flan and the tres leches cake and loved every bite.

  • Umi Hotpot Sushi & Seafood Buffet - 1692 Clements Bridge Rd, Deptford, NJ 08096

Lots of positive comments from folks who have been here numerous times. The sushi  and seafood are fresh, the tempura is light and crispy, and the bubble tea and ramen are available in unlimited quantities. Crab legs, lobster, Pork dishes, soups including crab bisque, fried rice, wings salads and desserts are also available.

  • Fresh Harvest Buffet - 1000 Boardwalk, Atlantic City, NJ 08401 Inside The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino

My second choice in AC buffets. Really fresh shellfish, and outstanding entree and side dish selections. The only thing I didn’t care for was the Italian food selections.

Everything else I’ve had here was very good. They do have some kickin’ ribs and fried chicken and hubby loves the prime rib.

The dessert choices were plentiful and the prices were reasonable .

Regular Buffet is $39.99 per person
