Good news, rock movie fans!  A sequel to 1984’s This Is Spinal Tap was announced last year…and now there’s finally been an update!  Director Rob Reiner says filming will begin at the end of this February!

Reiner also revealed some surprise guests:  Paul McCartney, Elton John, and Garth Brooks (among others).  He also confirmed that “everyone’s back”…which includes himself as filmmaker Marty DiBergi, and Christopher Guest, Harry Shearer, and Michael McKean as Spinal Tap members Nigel Tufnel, Derek Smalls, and David St. Hubbins.

A new release date has yet to be announced…but I seriously cannot wait for this movie.  Spinal Tap remains one of the funniest films of all time and was really an innovator in the quasi-documentary style that was later popularized in movies like Best In Show and programs like The Office.  I can’t wait for them to be back!  Check out a great selection of clips from Spinal Tap below!  These go to eleven!
