Did you see this sort of strange story about the New York Jets new star quarterback Aaron Rodgers?

Rodger is crowd-sourcing a million dollars for a website that he and his business partners are designing. It’ll be called Online Sports Database and it essentially will be a sports version of the movie site IMDB.com.

OK, let’s pump the brakes for a second. First off…Aaron Rodgers has made $450 million in his NFL career (between playing and endorsements)…why does he need OUR money?! Pay for the damn website yourself, Rodgers!

Secondly…creating an online one-stop shop for sports exists already…whether you go to ESPN.com or NBCSports.com or FoxSports.com or even Wikipedia…those can give you all the stats that you need without leaving them. So, if you ask me, this idea isn’t a great one. Sorry, Aaron! That’s just my two cents!

Yanks Defeat Seattle
The Yankees beat the Mariners…3 to 1. Gerrit Cole was excellent as Cole went seven and a third…striking out eight…while giving up just one run…Cole receives the win. Clay Holmes picked up his ninth save of the season.

Mets Lose To Houston
The Mets lost to the Astros…4 to 2. Justin Verlander gave up four runs in seven innings as he receives the loss.

Phils Fall To Atlanta
The Phillies fell to the Braves…4 to 2. The Phils are still three games over .500.

Tyreek Hill Being Investigated
Superstar wide receiver Tyreek Hill of the Miami Dolphins is being investigated for alleged assault and battery. Apparently Hill got physical with a South Florida boating employee. Weird.

Warriors Want Green Back
Golden State Warriors general manager Mike Dunleavy, Jr. says that he and the Warriors want future Hall-Of-Famer Draymond Green back. Green has entered free agency and is fielding offers.

Devils Re-Sign
Forward Jesper Bratt has signed an eight-year, $63 million contract extension with the New Jersey Devils ahead of restricted free agency this summer. Bratt had his highest goal-scoring season this year with 32 and has posted 73 points in back-to-back seasons.
