Weapons Of Anew has been through quite the Odyssey over the last 3 years. Following a successful tour with Scott Stapp, they recorded an album in 2019. The album was delayed by the 2020 covid-19 pandemic. They released a single from the album during the lockdown and achieved stardom. And that’s just the first part of the story.
Weapons Of Anew’s cover of Chainsmokers’ “Sick Boy” made it all the way into the 20’s of the Billboard Top 40, launching the band into radio rotation from coast to coast. It was the perfect time to release an album and tour. But while Weapons Of Anew was ready, the world was not. “Sick Boy” was busy climbing the charts at a time when rock clubs were shuttered and tours were sidelined. It was a moment of reset, which lead to a reconfiguration for the North Jersey Hard Rock act. The lineup shifted and the album that was supposed to be released in 2020 was re-recorded for 2023.
“Art Of War,” Weapons Of Anew’s sophomore album had to traverse a wayward environment but it is on track to be a declaration of independence from a band that is ready to get back to what they do best. Touring and interacting with audience members has always been Weapons Of Anew’s strength. We look forward to seeing them venture back into the unknown soon. In the mean time, a steady stream of singles will be released from the coming album.
The first single to be released from “Art Of War” is “Break The Ties,” a high-octane, powerhouse track. It is second only to “Sick Boy” in Spotify streams. Check it out HERE!
Weapons Of Anew guitar player Freddy Ordine will call in to Jersey Rock on 95.9 The Rat Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 11:30 pm to tell us about the new album and single. We’ll crank “Break The Ties” each night!
