The Morning Rat Race

FLORHAM PARK, NEW JERSEY - MAY 23: Aaron Rodgers #8 of the New York Jets answers questions after an offseason workout session at Atlantic Health Jets Training Center on May 23, 2023 in Florham Park, New Jersey.

Aaron Rodgers is back at it!

Good morning, Sports fans!  Davey Mac here with another Sports Report for ya!  We’ve got baseball scores and a legendary manager passing away, the NBA Postseason begins with LeBron and Steph, Flyers in action, the Giants may trade up in the NFL Draft, and more…but first…we gotta talk about New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers for a minute.

New York Jets v New York Giants

EAST RUTHERFORD, NEW JERSEY – AUGUST 26: Aaron Rodgers #8 of the New York Jets reacts after throwing a first quarter touchdown pass to Garrett Wilson #17 in a preseason game against the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium on August 26, 2023 in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

In a recent interview, Rodgers had some interesting things to say about the United States government and HIV.  Take a look at the clip below.

MLFootball on Twitter: "WOW... #Jets QB Aaron Rodgers says that HIV was created by the US government. 'The gameplan was made in the 80's'(Via NBC) / Twitter"

Now, I’m not interested in talking politics or conspiracy theories…this is the Sports Report…just the Sports here.  But that brings me to my point: Aaron Rodgers stated a few months ago that the Jets need to “Flush the bull sh–” and solely focus on football.  And then he veers into this controversial topic?

New York Jets Training Camp

FLORHAM PARK, NEW JERSEY – JULY 26: Quarterback Aaron Rodgers #8 of the New York Jets talks to reporters after training camp at Atlantic Health Jets Training Center on July 26, 2023 in Florham Park, New Jersey.

I don’t get it.  Rodgers only played four snaps last season for the Jets before completely tearing his Achilles.  Shouldn’t he be only talking about football and how the Jets are going to play this season?

Buffalo Bills v New York Jets

EAST RUTHERFORD, NEW JERSEY – SEPTEMBER 11: Quarterback Aaron Rodgers #8 of the New York Jets is helped off the field after an injury during the first quarter of the NFL game against the Buffalo Bills at MetLife Stadium on September 11, 2023 in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

It’ll be interesting to see how Rodgers and Gang Green do this year…the pressure is on.  You can’t give Rodgers all that cash for no football and lots of politics talk.  But if Aaron leads the Jets to the Super Bowl, I’m sure fans of Gang Green won’t mind what he says!  I’m Davey Mac…now on to the rest of the Sports Report!
