N.J. Weather: Thunderstorms & Flooding Ahead This Weekend
New Jerseyans will have to prepare for some wet weather heading our way this weekend. Some parts of the state will experience some flooding and severe storms starting Friday with it lingering into Saturday, forecasters say per The Patch.
On Thursday however, it is expected to be around 80 for both North Jersey and South Jersey. It will also be sunny throughout most of the day as clouds will begin coming in overnight Thursday per the National Weather Service.
Some counties might also experience some minor coastal flooding on Saturday. The affected counties are:
- Middlesex
- Monmouth
- Ocean
- Burlington
- Cape May
- Salem
- Gloucester
- Cumberland
- Camden
Per the National Weather Service for North Jersey the conditions for this weekend are as follows:
Friday
Showers likely, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 2pm. High near 77. Calm wind becoming south 5 to 9 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Friday Night
Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 8pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between 8pm and 2am, then a chance of showers after 2am. Low around 57. East wind around 6 mph becoming light and variable after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Saturday
Showers likely, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 8am. High near 72. Northwest wind 7 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Saturday Night
Showers before 8pm. Low around 57. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Sunday
A 30 percent chance of showers after 2pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 78.

A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after noon. Some of the storms could produce small hail and gusty winds. High near 80. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
Friday Night
Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 7pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly between 7pm and 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 57. Southeast wind around 5 mph becoming west after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

A chance of showers, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 11am. Partly sunny, with a high near 74. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
