Asbury Park Zombie Walk Is Back For 2024
If you love Halloween like I do, this Asbury Park Zombie Walk is where you want to be. It will be rocking on October 5th, right on the boardwalk and throughout the city.
A Record-Breaking Zombie Walk!
This will be the 16th annual Zombie Walk, just in time for the spooky season. Just a heads up, this Zombie Walk broke the Guinness World Record for ‘WORLD’S LARGEST GATHERING OF ZOMBIES’ in 2010 AND THEN AGAIN IN 2013!
According to AsburyParkZombieWalk.com, it will be “brains on the boardwalk,” The Zombie Walk started back in 2008 and is completely free to be part of, or you can stand on the sidelines and catch all the action. The people who put this all together say children and teens are encouraged to dress up like zombies and participate, as the Zombie Walk is family-friendly.
I highly recommend this event because you can get creative and you will see some people, who get really into it.
The Timeline For This Asbury Park Zombie Walk
The 2024 Asbury Park Zombie Walk is rain or shine “We have had rain during the day in the past, and it hasn’t kept the undead away,” say organizers.
This bad boy is brought to us by Johnny Mac House of Spirits and sponsored by MINI of Edison, the Mini Cooper dealership. They will be setting up the cars that will lead the procession of zombies through the streets of Asbury Park.
11am-3pm: Airbrush makeup tent opens. If you need help looking like a zombie, make-up artists will return this year in a limited capacity to offer free airbrush makeup. The tent will be located at the 4th Avenue Green Space on the Boardwalk.
3pm: Judges will be out and about going through the crowd looking for the best zombies. Costumed zombies must be on the Asbury Park Boardwalk at 3:00 p.m. The hidden judges will be looking for Best Young Zombie, Best Adult, Best Couple, and Best Group costumes.
4pm: The Zombie Walk Starts! The Walk will begin and move up the Boardwalk, heading from the Asbury Park Convention Hall down the boards towards the casino where it will turn onto Cookman Avenue and proceed from there.
6pm: The Zombie Walk ends outside of Johnny Mac’s House of Spirits, and the after-party starts right at the local bar, at 208 Main Street. Winners of the costume contest will be announced and also called up on stage to show how well they dressed up. There is going to be both cash prizes and a new “golden zombie” trophy awarded to some of the day’s most impressive dead.
