Creed: The Soundtrack to the Texas Rangers MLB Postseason Run
Creed is back in the news lately. First, it was for the announcement of their reunion on the aptly named “Summer of ’99” cruise. Now, it has to do with the Texas Rangers.
Per Loudwire, the Rangers started listening to Creed in the clubhouse before games during the second half of the regular season. The team started racking up wins and ended the regular season with a 90-72 record.
This led to the Rangers facing off against the Tampa Bay Rays in the American League wildcard series. The Rangers swept the Rays in the three-game series. Then, the Rangers swept the Baltimore Orioles in the American League Division Series (ALDS), a five-game series. During the third and final game of the ALDS, video of Creed playing in the stadium and fans singing along started making the rounds.

Fox Sports field reporter Ken Rosenthal even mentioned this unexpected phenomenon during the ALDS game three broadcast. Rosenthal noted that some of the members on the Rangers roster weren’t even born when Creed released their biggest hits.

As of publishing, Creed has yet to comment on all of this. However, you better believe the Rangers and their fans will be blasting a lot of Creed this Sunday (October 15), when they face the Houston Astros in game one of the American League Championship Series (ALCS).
