Yep, inspired by the classic Monty Python bit…
It looks like this one started in Canada, but it quickly spread because… well… it’s quite excellent.
Some Python fans are livening up the sidewalks in front of their houses by getting their kids chalk out and declaring them to be “silly walk zones”.
Inspired by the classic 1970 Monty Python sketch “The Ministry of Silly Walks,” homeowners make a sign or draw with chalk and then just keep a watchful eye on the space.
Anyone with even a smidgen of humor will get the hint and create their own “silly walk”… It’s only the saddest of neighbors who likely won’t do it… Those who don’t are probably the neighbors who give away dental floss for Halloween…
Here’s the classic Monty Python bit that inspired the whole thing:
When Carl is not working at the greatest rock radio station known to mankind; a station known around the globe; a station that has the best music, co-workers, advertisers and most importantly THE BEST F'N LISTENERS you may find me doing any one of the following: Riding or making mountain bike trails. playing with his kids. playing sand volleyball on 5th Ave, cooking amazing food, including on his sweet smoker grill, going to concerts, swimming in the ocean, going to amusement parks with his kids, and other stuff that rocks!
