In order to stop the spread of COVID-19 and the latest surge of omicron cases, the United States government is now offering free at-home rapid testing kits which will be sent out by the U.S. Postal Service (USPS).

Starting today (January 18), New Jersey residents among others can visit https://www.covidtests.gov/ to get their free at-home COVID-19 tests. It will take between 7-12 days for the tests to ship, however, they are completely free.

The website states that every home in the United States is eligible to order 4 free at-home COVID-19 tests.

The White House fact sheet states:

“To ensure equity and access for all Americans, the Administration will also launch a call line to help those unable to access the website to place orders, and work with national and local community-based organizations to support the nation’s hardest-hit and highest-risk communities in requesting tests.”
